This small Italian restaurant across from Lake Merritt in Oakland, is very ambitious with it’s big prices for small portions of food; which could make it a better candidate for Happy Hour than it does for dinner time. I came here with a girlfriend to catch up and we were very excited to try it when it first opened. We ordered speidini, salumi, red wine, and a spinach salad; just to taste a few of their appetizers. After waiting for over 40 minutes for something, anything….. Our server informed us that the bartender forgot to put our order in. How is that even possible? Why was it up to him? What was the purpose of you taking our order? So many questions…So here we sat, two moms, pressed for time, on a really short break which was now half over. We had to rush our meal in order to get back to our family obligations. Our server was missing in action for most of our time there, which was quite frustrating. I remember having to beg for some water even. The food portions were extra small, which made sharing between friends a challenge. Not to mention that the food was very over priced, especially for what you were actually getting. When our server realized that we had been neglected, and our food order had been overlooked, there was no attempt to remedy the situation and no energy put towards ensuring that we would come again. Left feeling dissatisfied with my experience, still hungry, overlooked and devalued..Not a returning customer. Two forks it is.
