Located in the popular Lakeshore area of Oakland, The Rolling Dunes is an American variety type of café restaurant, where you order first, then you seat yourself. The food is then brought out to you by the wait-staff. On several occcaisions, I have found the whole team here is very accommodating, helpful, and attentive. I brought my toddler here for lunch one day and was struck by how family friendly, kind, and courteous they were. We ordered the grilled cheese, the crab omelette, sourdough toast, soy milk, and a tropical iced tea. The restaurant is often packed as it was that day, and still this didn’t sway the quality of our experience. The service was fast, and they even child proofed my daughter’s soy milk in a container with a straw and top. The staff was very thoughtful, and even brought us iced tea refills to-go as we were leaving. All parents of small children can appreciate when a place is prioritizes their care of young patrons and adults alike. The food is above average café cuisine, and the family friendly environment can’t be beat.
