New Year’s day, not much open, but this place is.  Took my kid here today for some standard American fare.  She ordered the chicken strips with fries off of the kid’s menu and I ordered a loaded baked potato.  The food was good, standard good, and the prices were fair. The service was friendly and our order came pretty fast, especially considering that the place wasn’t packed because of the holiday.  They even had really cheap student specials going on, which I applaud them for.   I am all about feeding the youth, but this is no ordinary food blog.  I am concerned about how families of color, singles, and students are treated when they are dining out, so I appreciated how the staff at this place welcomed us. It felt good to know that we had stumbled upon a little well known neighborhood haven where everyone is welcomed warmly, and leaves full.  The fries were something special. Needless to say, we were pleased with our dining experience, and will definitely be going back for more.
