Another day of cruising up Piedmont in Oakland, looking for some lunch ‘to go’. I stumble upon The Wolf. As I am reading the menu to myself, the very kind hostess lets me know that she can help me when ever I am ready. She is so welcoming, exuding a warm vibe and a bright light (for you see-ers). I ask her about the salad, and immediately her eyes go big with excitement. I mean, I was excited too, because THIS salad had all of the fixins you want in a yummy salad. Avocado, olives, little gems, etc. She reassures me that the salad will deliver on it’s promise to be the bomb, and you know what? IT WASSS. IT DID. Her welcoming attitude and generous vibe helped me decide that I wanted to eat HERE for sure. And the fact that we both thought the world of their salad, sealed the deal for me. I appreciate being seen for the foodie that I am, so to experience a sense of belonging – as l engaged in this lunch conversation with the beautiful hostess, just warmed my heart. Especially during COVID. We need more of that!
