What a lovely restaurant this is. Nice and airy, open and private all at once. Warm staff who caters to your dining party, and amazingly delicious food. I can’t wait to go back here. Tucked within walking distance to the beach in Pacific Grove, CA, the Fish Wife serves up California / Italian comfort food. This is a great place to go with a large party, as we did pre-covid, and during quarantine, it is also a great place to order quality ‘take-out’ from for a fancy night in. Our party usually splits some kind of fried appetizer feast with tasty fried oysters, clams, shrimp, and fish. This huge platter also comes with fries and some steamed vegetables on the side. My kid always goes for something less fishy yet equally yummy – their pesto noodle with grilled chicken on the side. She absolutely loves this dish, which is a #win for eating away from home. I mean, ‘what kid does not like a good pesto noodle?’. I seem to get their shrimp cooked in a garlicky cream sauce over rice with black beans on the side. My mouth is watering just remembering this meal – one that you don’t want to end because its so dang good. If you are in the Monterey area you should look this place up. They will treat you right and feed you good. Those are the places I return to over and over again.
