This old school bar really came thru for me last week when I was floating around the city of Alameda, craving some delicious fried chicken. I found that in the fried chicken wing order at this new place (new to me!) called McGee’s. I researched them online, and then put in my to-go order thru Doordash. When I arrived to grab my food, I was welcomed warmly by a lady at the bar who pointed me towards the back of the place where they do their food pick up. As I was checking in about my order, the chef peeked thru the kitchen window and told me that he preemptively gave me some extra ranch dressing along with some BBQ sauce. How sweet! I totally appreciate being looked out for. The waitress then, collected my bag, and I asked for some extra napkins since I would be dining in my car. She kindly obliged and gave me a handful. The whole staff was really nice and the bar had a really cool vibe in there, like everyone is welcomed. I love bars that serves hot food, and offers large screened TV for sports fans. McGee’s is a really cool place that kinda reminded me of the bars on ‘Cheers’, a safe, fun haven for locals. Even though I live a ways away, I will be sure to visit this place again and actually dine there, and get in some pool action while I am at it. This is a great place to meet up with friends to catch up over bar bites and drinks while they watch the game. Thank you McGee’s!
