Farley’s East helped me graduate!

Oakland, CA

Let me first say how muchI love the food here. The sandwiches, the soups, the salads. The lattes, the teas, the spritzers. The danishes, the baked goods, and other tasty – pretty items at the counter…yes, try them all! I have spent a lot of time studying upstairs in their ‘work’ zone. Back when it was cool to be in a loud cafe, full of people, trying to focus and work independently, yes Farley’s East was that place for me. Somehow it is easier to think in a crowd of people and I found that kind of concentration and solace here at this sunny and spacious cafe. The baristas/cooks are so nice and helpful. They take good care of their customers, and create such a good energy in the place that makes you want to hang out for a while.

I love a place that makes really good tuna. It is kind of rare, and worth noting. I would often get their special salad of the week, with a side of tuna with it, YUMMMMM…. and I always got a soup and salad. Yes, all of that. I’m telling you that I would post up in this place for hours at a time, just munching my way first through grad school and next, a doctoral program. Good food feeds the brain and I am always up for a most tasty meal to keep me motivated thru out my day.

I am no longer a student who posts up here for half the day anymore, but I can still pop in to grab something savory and scrumptious to keep me going when I pass thru this part of Oakland. Farley’s East, I will see you soon my friend! Mama needs a salad and a tart!
